MASS - Mobile Air Surveillance Systems
TSS supports the U.S. Southern Command’s Area of Operation with the Mobile Air Surveillance Systems (MASS) program to connect a network of systems providing radar air coverage and Satellite communications for government agencies in the U.S. and abroad. The vast coverage of the radar network is utilized for partner nations to support their air sovereignty, provide data for search and rescue operations, and other missions both regional and international.

The MASS program utilizes multiple methods for providing radar and communications network data. The U.S. government can deploy radar, radio, and satellite systems to remote locations to provide coverage in areas needing support. Additionally, through international partnering agreements, host countries can choose to share their radar and communications systems data to strengthen the network.

Next-Generation Weather Radar
TSS Solutions is breathing new life into the U.S. Government’s state-of-the-art Next-Generation Weather Radar commonly known as the NEXRAD high-resolution weather search radar – 88 Doppler (WSR-88D). The U.S. Government uses these radars to support multiple agencies to include the FAA, NOAA, National Weather Service, and the U.S. Air Force. All of which rely on the timely and accurate weather data provided by these systems to ensure the safety of the general public and our men and women in uniform.Â

As part of a Service Life Extension Program, TSS is replacing critical electrical and mechanical assemblies on the radar antenna pedestal. There are 166 radar system pedestals located across the United States and the world. This global web of radars presents a logistical challenge that TSS is committed to conquering. TSS Solutions has developed a very calculated and methodical process to minimize the downtime of this vital radar network. Each radar location provides visibility into vital parts of a greater weather picture that can change without warning. Through our vast experience with radar system deployments and technological advancements, TSS Solutions is extending the life of this critical weather radar system with ballet-like precision.
